Carnatic music is a traditional, classical music art form from India. There is a rigorous science underlying the melody (represented as ragas through combinations of notes) and rhythmic patterns (represented as tALams).  The lyrics of the compositions are set in different languages -Sanskrit, Tamizh, Telugu and Malayalam.

Children are trained to develop an understanding of the pitch (shruti), positions of the notes (swarams) and the rhythmic variations (tALams), as well as clear and correct expression of the multi-lingual lyrics.
