Jaya has learnt Carnatic music since she was a child. She founded a music school for children in Seattle where she taught the basics of Carnatic music to children aged 3-12 yrs. She believes in creating and supporting music community and has hosted and organized concerts and other community events

Jaya has a Ph,D in Physics from Purdue. She has worked as a scientist at NASA Goddard, an analyst at Microsoft and Meta. She currently works as an analyst at Amazon. Her scientific research studies include a collaborative investigation with the Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center on the impact of Yoga on Cancer.
